- Snowy Range
The east entrance of the Snowy Range is about 30 miles from Laramie and leads to some of the best hiking, skiing and snowmobiling trails in southern Wyoming. Take a drive along the Snowy Range Scenic Byway to experience scenic lakes and vistas from high elevations. Here are some of our recommended things to see and do in the Snowy Range:

- Pole Mountain
Pole Mountain (also known as Happy Jack) is located about 10 miles east of Laramie. The area attracts hikers, mountain bikers, cross-country skiers and rock climbers. Here are some of our recommended things to see and do on Pole Mountain and along the Happy Jack Road (Highway 210).
-Climb granite rock formations at Vedauwoo (pronounced Vee-Duh-Voo) Climbing Area
-Hike and mountain bike (summer) or cross-county ski and snowshoe(winter) trails
-See the Abraham Lincoln Memorial Monument, located at the highest point on I-80
-Explore trails, lakes and archery range at Curt Gowdy State Park.
- Parks and Golf Courses
There are more than a dozen city parks that feature a variety of amenities, including a seasonally stocked fishing pond, skateboard park, splash pad, wading pool, jogging and biking paths, picnic shelters, and playgrounds. Enjoy beautiful mountain landscapes while golfing in Laramie. The Fox Run Golf Course is a 9-hole course, located about 3 minutes south of Laramie on Highway 230. Jacoby Golf Course is an 18-hole, 6,855 yard course, located at the east side of the UW campus.
